With the release of her 2017 debut album, Caitlyn Shadbolt was touted as ‘one to watch’ and a ‘rising star’. Her single “My Breakup Anthem” was the #2 Most Played Country single that year (only held out of the top spot by Sam Hunt’s “Body Like A Backroad’). On a roll with hit pop country single after single, Caitlyn performed at the ACRAS that same year; sharing the stage with Dean Lewis and Sheppard. Now the 25 year old emerges with her latest album STAGES and a more polished feel to her songwriting and ever evolving music career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“OXYGEN” is the new track to drop from STAGES and is a departure from her past pop-country releases; the single being a pure pop track. Discussing the track, Caitlyn says, “I am so excited to finally release Oxygen as a single. It feels like a new chapter for me, pushing boundaries I haven’t yet pushed. I wrote this song with Liam Quinn & Pat Byrne, they really helped me to explore another side of my writing. This song can be interpreted in a number of ways, but for me it’s about that constant conversation you have with yourself that’s both a blessing and a curse. The single and album were all produced by Stuart Stuart (Veronicas\/Dean Lewis\/Sheppard) bringing it to life in his Brisbane ‘Analog Heart’ studio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A finalist in the sixth season of The X Factor Australia, Caitlyn Shadbolt went on to secure a recording deal with ABC MUSIC\/UMA and release her debut album, Songs On My Sleeve (May 2017). Upon release the album hit #1 on the ARIA Country Album chart. First single, ‘My Break-Up Anthem’, held the #1 National Country Airplay Chart for 8 consecutive weeks.
